On March 1, 1999 Owl Software started shipping copies of TechWizard™ Version 2. The new version has many new features and is much easier to use.

There is an improved nutrition labeling section that allows users to prepare a nutrition label and ingredient declaration for any product, and a redesigned user interface that allows formula development and batching all on one screen.

There are also new features in version 2 that assist in product batching. For example, the user can prepare a batch sheet that includes units such as bags, cans, or packages of product. If a required unit does not exist in the TechWizard™ database then the user can create a new unit or modify an existing unit. TechWizard™ Version 2 lets the user determine batch size based on using all of a measure of product, for instance, using an entire bottle of flavoring. Another new feature helps reduce product loses by reformulating for chase/flush water. The user can quickly reformulate around using a particular amount of water to flush product through the equipment and add it to the batch.

Version 2 also allows for easy recipe entry using any type of unit from cups to liters then translating that information into weight percentages. Finally, it is much easier to share information with other TechWizard™ users using version 2. The Formula Archives and Ingredient Databases are now stored in separate files. If you copy the file to disk, it can be loaded on any computer running the TechWizard™ Version 2 program.
